Cutting Edge Interventions Committee

Purpose:

The "Cutting Edge" Techniques committee is dedicated to keeping helping professionals stay updated with the latest trends, strategies, and interventions for working with addicted and offending clients.

Current projects:

investigating the use of:

  • Interventions for addicted couples
  • Interventions for  offending and/or addicted at-risk adolescents in alternative education settings
  • The use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in addiction treatment

Development of presentations and manuscripts on the aforementioned topics.

Goals:

To provide counselors working in the addictions or forensics/ criminal justice fields up-to-date counseling techniques

To support counselors with high quality research for the addicted and forensic/criminal justice populations.
